<p>The Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education and Research doesn't have quite the same employment cell as many engineering institutions or management colleges. As far as being a medical institution, IPGMER is mainly focused on providing education to students with clinical internships, specialised medical training, and everything else necessary to become a good doctor rather than on placement.</p><p>Students and graduates, however, very much receive the benefits of being part of IPGMER and come very much under the large umbrella of SSKM Hospital, which provides them with clinical exposure. Graduates very often take up internships, postgraduate courses (MD/MS), or start their practice in hospitals, which also opens many gates for them in government and private hospitals depending on the skill set, experience, and specialization.</p><p>There is no direct placement cell, but the solid networking between faculty, alumni, and affiliated hospitals aids opportunities in this regard.</p>
