Is there any big difference in university and college abroad?

Hi,
In very simple words, a college is mainly for UG studies while universities offer post graduate and further degrees plus research and other activities. A university too might offer UG courses but a college cannot grant a PG degree. This is universal and not only applicable abroad but in India
