    Hello,
Every year several candidates appears in the JEE Main Exam this year too around 10 Lacs students appeared the last year cutoff for JEE Main was as follows
    General- 81 Marks
    OBC - 49 Marks
    SC- 32 Marks
    ST - 27 Marks
Out of 10 Lacs s students only 224000 students gets chance to appear for the JEE Advanced Exam. If you score well in the JEE Main Exam you will get the chance to appear in the JEE Advanced Exam or would get admission in the JEE Main Colleges like NITs and other GFTIs Colleges.

JEE Mains is a relatively easy exam than JEE Advanced which is an obvious fact. Though the chances of clearing JEE Advanced with a poor score is JEE Main are less, it's not impossible. You can make a proper plan and work really hard to clear the Advanced exam with flying colours.
