Language and Literature are two words that appear similar in their purport but strictly speaking they are not so. Language is the fundamental unit of literature. In other words it can be said that language makes literature.
Literature is produced by the creation of works in a particular language by the writers of the language. To become English Lecturer you have to study Masters of Arts in English (MA in English). -
Literature includes books, writings, etc. on any subject, which is basically of superior nature. It can be in any language.
English is a language in itself and comes under the umbrella of the term literature.
That's the difference.
Do your undergraduate degree and post-graduation in English followed by the B.Ed.
There you're as an English lecturer. -
To become a English lecturer in India, the best way is to complete the masters degree in English Language and then apply for the UGC NET Exam.
The National Testing Agency conducts the UGC NET Exam for selecting the candidates for the post of Assistant Professor and for awarding Junior Research Fellowship.
So, by qualifying the UGC NET Exam, you can be a lecturer in insituites and colleges of India.
