Is there any difference in the salary figure offered to students with no work experience vis-a-vis students with work experience?

Many B-schools conduct Lateral Placement processes for the students who have prior work experience. In most of the cases, the salary figures offered to the experienced students are more than that of the freshers owing to their prior experience which would add value to the company.
