"Changing branches in B.Tech can be challenging due to some several key reasons :

    Eligibility Criteria

    • Most colleges require a high minimum CGPA, typically around 7.5 to 8.0
    • Different categories may have slightly different CGPA requirements (e.g., General category vs. SC/ST).

    Key Challenges

    • Limited seat availability in desired branches.
    • Competitive selection process
    • Some branches have restrictions on transfers (e.g., cannot change into core engineering from certain branches).

    Important Considerations

    • Branch change is usually possible after the first year
    • Students need to be among the top performers in their current branch.
