Is there any effect of B.Sc marks in taking admission in IIT through JAM or does it depend only on JAM score?

    Admission to IITs through JAM (Joint Admission Test for M.Sc. ). Is primarily based on the JAM score. The JAM score is used to determine the rank of the candidate in the merit list, which is used for admission to M.Sc. (Two-Year), Joint M.Sc. Ph.D. M.Sc. Ph.D. Dual Degree and other postgraduate programs at the IITs and IISc. The B.Sc. Marks may be considered during the selection process if there is a tie between two or more candidates in the JAM merit list.     Hello Gulson Meher,
    Yes, you need to be eligible to appear in JAM examination to get admission into IIT for post-graduation.
    Following are the basic requirements to appear in JAM Exam:
    You must have 55% aggregate (Only for General Category) marks in your B.Sc and 50% aggregate (SC/ST/PWD) marks to appear in JAM Exam.

    Aspiring candidates should have appeared for the Class XII (or equivalent) examination for the first time in either 2016 or 2017. The candidates must have secured at least 75% marks or be in the top 20 percentile in the 12th class examination conducted by the respective boards.
