Yes, the XAT exam has negative marking of -0.25 marks for wrong attempt. Unanswered questions have no negative marking but if there are 8 consecutive unanswered questions, 0.10 marks will be deducted. Thus, the candidates must select questions to solve very carefully in the XAT exam. They should solve only those questions which they know they can solve accurately. The XAT exam has sectional time limit too, so you may not want to waste time on a question that you cannot solve accurately. You stand to lose both time and marks. So be careful in selecting questions in the XAT exam.  The sectional cut off for XAT is usually 80 percent

Yes, there is a negative marking of 0.25 for each wrong answer in the Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT). The XLRI, Jamshedpur, conducts this exam for admission to XLRI and the other 10 participating XAMI member colleges.
    1. The exam consists of 100 questions in MCQ format.
    2. Each question carries one mark for the correct answer.
    3. One fourth of a mark is deducted for a wrong response.
    4. The time required to attempt this paper is 180 minutes.
    5. There are four sections and one essay question in XAT. You can check the detailed exam pattern on this Shiksha link: https://www.shiksha.com/mba/xat-exam-pattern

There no negative marking for general knowledge questions but there is negative marking of 0.25 marks for every incorrect answer. Plus 0.10 marks will be deducted if the participant doesn't answer more than 8 questions.
