As per the new UPPSC Exam Pattern, there will be a 0.33% negative marking for every incorrect answer. Each paper will be conducted for 2 hours. There shall be a negative marking of 0.33% for every incorrect answer. The candidates must appear in both the papers of the preliminary examination for evaluation. The minimum qualifying marks for the UPPSC exam vary for different categories, with SC/ST candidates required to score 35% in both the Prelims and Mains exams, while other categories must score 40% in both stages.

It is true that the preliminary exam for the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) exam uses a negative marking scheme.
