Is there any scope of B.Sc. in nautical science? How to go for merchant navy after this course?

Hi Riyas, Diploma in Nautical Science is a good course for aspirants after 12th who want to excel as a Deck Officer in Merchant Navy. The diploma program is duly approved by Director General of Shipping, Government of India and has bright future scope. One can also go for a 3 year Degree program in Nautical Science, after completion of which all successful trainees would be awarded a B.Sc. Degree by Indian Maritime University. The job opportunities for aspirants who have finished their education in the field of nautical Science are numerous. Some of them are: Captain Deck Officer Marine Engineer Oceanographer Radio Officer Scuba Diver After successfully completing the B.Sc. (Nautical Science) degree, it is possible for them to get a variety of on shore jobs. Subsequent to the obtaining of the certificate of competency - Master (FG), a person can find suitable job openings with firms of the public or private sectors. They can get jobs as: Ship Manager or Marine Superintendent Nautical Surveyors Teacher with any Maritime Training Institute Pilot with Port Trust With more experience as well as qualification, one will get promoted to higher designations during the course of the time. Candidates wishing to enter the navigational and engineering fields of Merchant Navy need to complete their B.Sc. degree in mechanical or marine engineering, before they can gain admission to the field.
