The reservation policy favours candidates belonging to the socially disadvantaged categories. These categories included Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Nomadic Tribes, Other Backward Castes, etc. Further, reserved category candidates belonging to states other than Maharashtra are treated as Open (General) category.</p>
