The answer to this question is a Yes. As per the exam pattern of JEE Main 2024, 4 marks would be awarded for every question answered correctly, while negative marking will be done for every incorrect answer. This implies that 1 mark is deducted every time a candidate answers the question wrongly.  Zero or no marks will be given to un-attempted questions.

The marking scheme of Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main is as follows:

    • +4 marks are awarded for each correct answer.

    • -1 marks are deducted for each wrong answer.

    • No change in marks for each unattempted question.

    • If a question seems to have multiple answers /No options in the answers seems accurate enough/ Question is termed to drop for any reason - full marks for that question will be awarded to the candidates.

To know more about the Joint Entrance Examination, (JEE) Main refer to the official website.
