Some coaching is always helpful for IPS etc but you can not entirely depend on coaching.The teacher has a limited role here.He can at the best motivate the students.But, a major initiative should come from the candidate.

I would suggest you to spend quality time everyday by reading journals, magazines, newspapers, etc.
