Satish, Lovely Professional University is a UGC approved university and UGC approved university doesn't need AICTE approval. The Supreme Court has ruled in the famous Bharathidasan University versus AICTE case that it is not obligatory for a university, created under an Act of a competent legislature, to seek and secure prior approval of the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) to start a department for imparting a course or programme in technical education or a technical institution as an adjunct to the university itself to conduct technical courses of its choice and selection.What it means is that the AICTE Act,1987 is applicable only to 'technical institutions' and universities are not ' technical institutions', thus excluding them from the purview of the AICTE Act. Lovely Professional University is recognized by the University Grants Commission(UGC), a statutory body of the Government of India. AICTE approval is not required for a university to run a course in technical education as has been held by the Hon'ble Supreme Court in its judgment CWP2056 of 1999 titled BHARATHIDASAN UNIVERSITY &amp; ANR. V/S ALL INDIA COUNCIL FOR TECHNICAL EDUCATION &amp; ORS, and various other cases. The Ministry of Human Resource Department, Government of India has released NIRF Ranking 2020 and LPU appears in Top 100 in its most crucial Overall category, which includes IITs and Central Universities. LPU is also ranked 78th in the list of all the government and private universities of the country. Universitys Engineering School is in the Top 100, Management School in the Top 50, and Pharmacy School in the Top 30 institutions of India.

In India, LPU is recognized by the University Grant Commission (UGC), the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), and the Council of Architecture (COA) and approved by the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI). It is also a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). Internationally, LPU is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business School and Programs (ACBSP) and a member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU). The college was established in 2006 by the Lovely International Trust and has managed to gain enough recognition and popularity in just 15 years. The university is an educational home to more than 30,000 students, 4000 faculty members, and offers more than 200 programs. Lovely Professional University is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC). The university offers undergraduate, postgraduate, doctoral, and diploma courses in various streams like management, engineering, law, education, and more.
