Is this procedure of giving the examminations right??
Hello Sir,
I am appearing for my board examinations in march 2013 (non-med)
then i would like to go for 1 year's preparation before giving the entrance exam(JEE Mains and JEE Advanced) ,which i am planning to give in 2014
Would I face any problem f i follow this schedule???
Dear Shahzeb, my reply is entirely different from our two great experts. With apology to them, I would say that your planning is absolutely right. Firstly, the pattern of XIIth exam and JEE is different. Since, conceptual knowledge is more important during JEE, it can not be simultaneously prepared with 12th unless, you have been preparing for it during past two years. This method often resulted in not so good score in 12th which was OK so far but now with more weightage to 12th result, your idea of giving one year of preparation is perfectly alright. Secondly, one year GAP is no issue for placement by MNC companies and it is allowed.

Thirdly, one year in the life is nothing compared to qualitative jump you will get in your career & perks, being an IITian. Thirdly, by failing any exam, you learn nothing, rather preparing yourself well, giving yourself time and giving your best shot is the best method of achieving success. Lastly, developing various skills, attitude and personality very largely depends upon the environment and class in which you are put in and there is no better then IIT campuses. I can vouch for it as I myself is an IITian.

I fully agree with Nikhlesh. Its not good idea to waste a year for JEE preparation. Year break often become a problem during campus placements and it is a common habits of the students from Bihar and Jharkhand. Great JEE results will never build your career and future so my advise you should continue your studies without any break and focus on developing greater attitude and skills, and balanced IQ & EQ, great communication skills, social skills, maturity and personality . these will make you successful in life and career.

Skipping the JEE exam this year, taking one year preparation time for JEE after the XII th Board does NOT seem to be a good idea in my opinion. For all reasons, you can still give it next year even if you appear in this year's JEE and fail to get into the desired engg institute. Why leave this year's chance? If you are well prepared for XII th Board then there is no reason that you require exclusively extra or enhanced preparation for JEE. I suggest to go for JEE this year itself. One academic year is quite precious at this stage.
