Is Thomus calculus early transcendentals 14th edition good for B.Sc maths?

There are mixed responses about this book. Some claim it is a handy tool to study calculus whereas others claim that there is no practicality to the book as the examples are not fully explained. If you want to learn calculus, this book would be a better buy.
