UPES is recognized by University Grants Commission (UGC) under Section 2(f) of the UGC Act, 1956 and is the first university under Public-Private Partnership.

Its a govt college. Try to check its site to know the details of academics. Also log in to some more univs to see the benefits of academics given elsewhere also like RV, LPU, RAI etc

UPES is a statutory University legislated by the State Government of Uttaranchal.
