Now, coming to Veltech. I considered veltech over many other institutions because of the following benefits.
1). No donation at all. Direct admission.
2). You could get admission through AIEEE now JEE. I had some one Lacs plus ranking in AIEEE, still I got admission (Yay!). And, my fees was around 1 Lacs 10 thousand per year lower than those who got through management quota which was around 50 k more.
3). Placement records were shown good at the time of my admission, . However, this college is constantly working on its teaching standards and effective faculty members (note that I mentioned effective and not qualified because some qualified faculty members couldn't be a good educator. Hope you are getting me.) I am very optimistic about the good placement of this college in near future.
4). Cheap accommodation nearby college. Since the college falls in the outskirt of the city, I could get rooms at decent rent.
5). Collaboration and tie ups with many foreign universities and few companies. You can get a chance to do internship overseas, since the college has tie ups and does student exchange programs with a lot of universities.
6). Scholarships. There was full scholarship for state topper and vtuee toppers which included tuition fee, hostel fee, and transportation that amounts to more than 2 lakh. Wow! That means you can earn 2 Lacs per annum by yourself. There were scholarship for semester toppers as well.
7). Not blacklisted. At the time of my admission, a list of blacklisted institutes were declared. Veltech wasn't in the list which influenced me more. The present scenario is much brighter. It has affiliations from many regulatories NAAC, AICTC, and UGC.
8). Cheap commutation: Bus fares are relatively lower than most of the metropolitan cities and sub urban trains are cheaper and faster. This is a very important point to consider if you plan to stay far from college anyday. And, obviously commutation can impact your monthly budget.
Please note that my priority of choosing this college was on two parameters: less fees and decent college. Veltech was a preferred one for me because of all the mentioned reasons. But, your priority might differ and therefore choose accordingly?
Hope this helps. Good luck with your admission.
