Hello Prashant, VIT, Bhopal university is approved by the UGC. It is a private university. There are only 24 universities which has been banned by UGC. Many universities are opening every year everywhere in India providing distance education and creating confusion in students mind that this University is fake or genuine. VIT is a deemed university. Deemed universities don't require affiliation from AICTE.
They are recognised by UGC (University Grants Commission).
AICTE affiliation is required for engineering colleges which are affiliated to some other universities, which in turn are affiliated to UGC.
UGC or the University Grants Commission is the highest authority as far as higher education and the universities are concerned. No university can exist, let alone confer degrees to run colleges without the approval of UGC.
