Is VIT, Bhopal UGC approved?

Hello Prashant, VIT, Bhopal university is approved by the UGC. It is a private university. There are only 24 universities which has been banned by UGC. Many universities are opening every year everywhere in India providing distance education and creating confusion in students mind that this University is fake or genuine. VIT is a deemed university. Deemed universities don't require affiliation from AICTE. They are recognised by UGC (University Grants Commission). AICTE affiliation is required for engineering colleges which are affiliated to some other universities, which in turn are affiliated to UGC. UGC or the University Grants Commission is the highest authority as far as higher education and the universities are concerned. No university can exist, let alone confer degrees to run colleges without the approval of UGC. A university once approved has full authority to run any courses it wants and normally has many colleges affiliated to it for the purposes of imparting education. Also, A UGC recognised University can start any Technical /Professional /Management programme without prior approval of AICTE through its MAIN CAMPUS ONLY by maintaining minimum standards of education as laid down by AICTE.
