Is work experience essential to pursue MBA?

Are there any chances to get a college for a graduate with 1 year of gap and no work experience, if I score well in CAT? I have completed my graduation in 2014 but I was handling my business of electrical instruments. In PI, if they ask about the gap then can I tell this experience?

U need a good score in a national level entrance exam. Work experience is not compulsory. If u have a 1 year gap u have to give valid reasons for the gap during placements and GDPIs
