Is work experience necessary to study MBA anywhere in India like in all IIMs and all other universities?

It is not necessary in all the colleges. Yes, it is necessary for Top 5-7 IIMS that provides you with edge over others.
Other than that, it is not necessary, you should perform well in CAT. Your good score in CAT and academics good be great to get into good college.

Hi Srihari,
It is not necessary to have a work experience but a good grade and score in academics is must in IIMS. Whereas, work experience is always a cherry on the cake in your resume as it makes it strong enough and gives you a head start.

Thank you. I just want to know one thing, out of the several people admitted into IIMs, do most of them have work experience or do people just have a Bachelor's degree.

No, it is not necessary. But, work experience can give your resume a support for getting into IIMS.

Yes, you can be preferred over others. You should make your resume as strong as you can.
