    It is a private, deemed-to-be university. The University Grants Commission (UGC) recognises of Yenepoya University (Deemed to be University). The university has also been accredited by NAAC with an "A+" grade.

    Yenepoya university is a deemed-to-be private university recognised by University Grant Commission (UGC) offering graduate, post graduate, doctoral and short certification programs in various health science disciplines. It was established in 2008 and is a type of private/self-financed institute. According to the NIRF ranking 2023, it has been placed in the 85th position among the indian universities.
