    Hello Vikas,
    Normally speaking, once any state or entity is conducting an entrance exam then the importance of 12th marks is only to decide whether you are eligible or not. E. g. You can think of getting admission in an NIT based on entrance exam "JEE Mains" score only if you have scored 75% in class 12th. However, some universities, like SASTRA, give ranking based on weightage to both 12th & entrance exam. Best wishes to you.

    Yes, It is a very important criteria for Colleges. Every colleges sets it's criteria of Admission like NIT, IIT and other government colleges need 75% in 12th. Also, your 12th marks is asked by recruiters while placements.

    Yes, It is for some Colleges. It is the basic eligibility required to take admission in the college. Every colleges sets it's criteria of Admission like NIT, IIT and other government colleges need 75% in 12th and should have appeared JEE Mains. Your 12th marks is also asked by recruiters while placements.
