    Well i would back by Arvind Joshi245 suggestion. It is important that you take this decision and the same should be taken on either of the two parameters:
    Your interest in the particular subject, but this may not be the only reson to score good in the particular subject.
    However the second option is a better option provided it applies well on you and this is to go by the subject which you have studied previously in your education history and will be a lot helpful as you would have some basic knowledge, further to help you grasp concepts quickly and easily.

    hello dear, its your interest to choose the subject for ias because it requires so much of hard work . you will check the syllabus of all the subject in which intrested. Mostly students pich history for this exam as all of student have mandatory subject in schooling and have some knowledge about it .

    It is better to choose from subjects which either you have studied earlier, or have interest in.But average knowledge will not do. Know/refresh the basics, and then an analytical study and critical appreciation --not from one viewpoint , but from many.I feel both history and political science are important from the point of view of administrative services.
