Hi
To be a good software engineer, you must hv b.tech or b.e degree as these will place you better. If your circumstances do not allow then go ahead with diploma first and take a lateral entry to degree later as Cracking entrances like jee will be very challenging.

To become a Software engineer you are required to do BTech CS/ IT, BCA or BSc CS or Diploma in CS. You are required to complete +2 and seek admission in above mentioned graduation degrees. You can enroll in Diploma after 10th class. You can also learn software of you own and do various certification to become Software engineer. Unfortunately acceptance of this path in Indian IT industry is very poor. You may able to do individual software development assignment but may face challenges in getting a job. -
