Degree: BSc majoring in Biotechnology or Microbiology - UJ, UWC, RU, UKZN, UCT, UFS, US, UL, or courses offered at DUT, TUT and VUT.
Post-graduate training: a doctorate majoring in biotechnology is the preferred qualification - UCT, UKZN, UFS, UWC,UZ and TUT.

You may opt NET with JRF and PHD entrance exam of the respective universities where you intend to pursue course
Please note that every university must follow UGC regulation of 2009 while admitting students for PhD otherwise it does not stand valid
