LPU isn't an AICTE approved university. I know its a UGC approved university. Will the value of B.Tech degree from LPU will be less?

Dear Ulfat, the honorable Supreme Court has ruled in the famous Bharathidasan University versus AICTE case that it is not obligatory for a university, created under an Act of a competent legislature, to seek and secure prior approval of All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) to start a department for imparting a course or programme in technical education or a technical institution as an adjunct to the university itself to conduct technical courses of its choice and selection. What it means is that the AICTE Act, 1987 is applicable only to 'technical institutions' and universities are not ' technical institutions', excluding them from the purview of the AICTE Act. So, all the universities whether government. Or private just need UGC approval, not AICTE approval. So, your B.Tech degree from LPU will carry the same value as will your degree from any AICTE approved college. No, your B.Tech degree have the same value as the other university or colleges have. LPU is one of the best universities for pursuing engineering. For running a university one needs UGC's approval, which they already have. It won't create any difficulty in getting jobs. Your skill set, knowledge, communication are the factors which actually matters. For the placement, they provide the best platform for learning. Dear students, For your information, firstly I would like to say that the universities must be approved from UGC, approval of AICTE is not mandatory. When you will study B.Tech in LPU which is approved by UGC, then even if your course is not approved by AICTE it will not have any problem, the value would be same. Approval of AICTE is not compulsory for the universities it is just some universities try to get this approval unnecessarily for adding feather in their cap. But LPU has already so many feathers in the cap. It is the colleges which require compulsory AICTE approval, so if you are directly studying at the university (LPU) you do not need to worry. If you are deciding to get admission at LPU for B.Tech CSE. It would be a best decision of your life as this branch have the highest placement records and AICTE approval is not required to get a valuable degree from this university. This university is one of the best universities in terms of placement, security, infrastructure, faculty members, labs and laboratories in India. Furthermore, if the value for B.Tech LPU is less, then how LPU alumni are working at the top notch companies worldwide at the package of 1 crore. Yes it is true, from Google to Microsoft; LPU students are working at a high package. Every year multinational company Cognizant alone recruits more than 600 students from B.Tech. Do you really think it is possible to get placed in such big brands without having a valuable degree? No it is not. Not only this, there are so many government bodies like Indian army, Indian navy, government banks etc. Come for the recruitment. And so many of the LPU students are pursuing their M.Tech from IITs and other government institutions. LPU follows standard much higher than what AICTE ask colleges to follow. So don't bother at all on this over hyped AICTE. This type of statement also said by my bank manager when I was trying to get lone for my studies but trust me your B.Tech degree have the same value as the other university or colleges have. LPU is one of the best universities for pursuing engineering. For running a university one needs UGC's approval, which they already have. It won't create any difficulty in getting jobs.

Depends for what your value concerns. If there is no value in front of companies for an UGC approved universities, there is around every single day a new company visited our campus. LPU's degree is acceptable throughout the world, and in present scenario, it hardly matters, whether it's AICTE or UGC approved, though being approved by both is highly appreciated, but being approved by one is itself a enough authentication.

Hi, Lovely Professional University is approved by the UGC (University Grants Commission), so it does not need AICTE approval. So, there will be no effect on your degree. Moreover, your degree is valid abroad also. Thanks.

As you already know that LPU is UGC recognised so undoubtedly the B.Tech degree will be valid in all over the world. AICTE is not required or mandatory if an university is UGC recognised. For more details please check the LPU website or call at the toll free number 1800 102 4431.

Hi, LPU does not require AICTE approval. Lovely Professional University is a university in itself and it is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC), a statutory body of the Government of India. AICTE approval is not required for a university to run a course in technical education as has been held by the Hon'ble Supreme Court in its judgment CWP2056 of 1999 titled BHARATHIDASAN UNIVERSITY & ANR. V/S ALL INDIA COUNCIL FOR TECHNICAL EDUCATION & ORS, and various other cases. And B.Tech. Degree from LPU will be valuable as that of other colleges/universities. I hope it helps you! Thank You!

Let me clear that AICTE Stands for All India Council For Technical Education whose primary objectives are to PROMOTE, PLAN, COORDINATE, REGULATE & MAINTAIN quality of the Technical Education in INDIA. Secondly AICTE approval is required by the colleges/institutions in India to run Technical courses. Since LPU is a UNIVERSITY and is recognised by the UGC (approval proof present on their official website), the AICTE approval is not required to run any of the technical courses in the University.
