LPU residential facilities during COVID-19? Am I safe if I take residential facilities at LPU.

A big resounding YES ! LPU hostels are one of the best designed student accommodations. Since it follows all the norms and ensures the proper sanitation of the hostels everyday, it is one of the safest campuses in the country. The staff and students are sensitized regularly and strict rules and regulations have been laid down for the safety of students. More over there is a fully equipped in house hospital, god forbid if there is any urgency. Hope this helps DVD.

Hi Megha, LPU has one of the largest residential system in Asia. There are few Endeavors made by LPU to fight against COVID-19 Pandemic; 1) It has setup of $ 1million fund for research and innovation to fight against Covid-19 Pandemic, this lead to plethora of innovations and developments at campus. 2) More than 5 of LPU's initiatives have featured in top 20 measures all across India. 3) The campus is being sanitized daily whether there is student strength or not. 4) Movement without masks has been restricted in the campus. 5) While entering the University, everyone is being medically examined with thermal scanners. 6) Social distancing norms are applied in the campus, it was very easy to implement Social distancing as its campus is huge and there is space capacity to do so. 7) In house hospital: A giant 100 B.Ed hospital is already there in case of any urgency. 8) Regular advisories are floated on the University APP, which is mandatory for all the staff and students to have. 9) The good quality food of mess is being delivered into the hostel rooms so that there is no bog gathering. There is routine quality check on food. 10) As off now, all the classes and tests are being curated online, LPU will obviously follow the guidelines by government when the campus re opens for next academic year. 11) The strict rules and regulations are in place for movement of people within the campus so as to minimize the rush. CCTV cameras are already in campus for enhanced safety and surveillance for ensuring the adherence to rules. 12) Motivation speaks and Webinar are becoming support system to many of the faculty members to further motivate the students and prospective students. Undoubtedly yes, I was also worried about one of my cousin who took admission and the counsellor told that LPU has followed all the directions especially of social distancing given by Central/State Government as of now and will also follow the same. LPU has taken some of the major initiatives for the well-being of students, staff and faculty: 1. Wearing of mask by all 2. Daily sanitation 3. Strict rules of movement 4. All the hostel rooms and buildings are sanitized and unnecessary movement of anyone is prohibited 5. No big gathering 6. Thermal scanners Over an above nearly 4000+ cameras are installed in University for the safety and security of the student. Now, I believe if the institution is taking so much effort then probably there is no need to worry. I also overheard alot for LPU that LPU believes in delivering what it promises to deliver.

Till now university management played a very good role in handling everything which is important in pandemic. Before the actual lockdown university sent us to home for our safety and as per the government orders then they provided each and everything to us through online mode using ( UMS, LPU Live app, Googlemeet). Even when government declared the national lockdown and covid 19 started moving towards peak, University started the work from home policy for all staff. Those students and staff who were not able to reach at home due to some reasons, LPU took care of them very effectively. The protection of students and educational facilities is particularly important in this grim situation. LPU would make sure the workplaces are clean and hygienic, surfaces (e. g. desks and tables) and objects (e. g. telephones, keyboards) would be wiped with disinfectant regularly Because contamination on surfaces touched by staff and students is one of the main ways that COVID-19 spreads. LPU would make it mandatory to wear masks. LPU hostels are one of the best designed student accommodations. Hi, Do not worry there are multiple initiatives that are already taken at the university level and let me give you an overview for that.There are multiple measures taken at the University to ensure safety and security during COVID times. They include :- CAMPUS PREPAREDNESS: Temperature and other checks at entrance points of the university. All the members of faculty and staff are required to follow the COVID-19 related policies and requirements as stated by State/ Central Government. Additional measures include: Regular Cleaning & Disinfecting of workspace. Restrictive entry in the campus for all outsiders. 24X7 medical and health support through in-house Campus Hospital. Work from home option given to members having any health concerns. INITIATIVES IN RESIDENTIAL FACILITIES: To ensure the safety of students who would be residing in hostels, university has planned following initiatives: Regular Thermal scans for every individual entering the hostel premises. Respiratory Masks to be worn by everyone at the time of leaving the room. Sanitization of hostel rooms and other infrastructure facilities like common rooms etc. including play areas as per govt. norms Timing of consuming food in the Hostel mess to be staggered to ensure social distancing norms. Option of packed food and room service is also being explored. Uni Hospital situated at the heart of the campus is fully equipped to take care of the medical needs of the staff and students and is operational 24x7 with following facilities to manage all sort of medical emergencies. 25 bedded hospital staffed with well qualified doctors, nurses and lab technicians. Visiting specialists once a week for providing specialty clinics. Tie up with Twenty-five hospitals for referral cases requiring specialized medical intervention.
