Ph.D. is a purely research based programme, as per the UGC guidelines, it cannot be done in distance leaning mode. A course work with specific regular duration is must have. However, there is a provision of pursuing it in part time mode in LPU Part Time Student need to interact with his/her guide at least once in a month (in person by physically visiting or through other electronic means). However, depending on requirement of the research or as desired by the guide/supervisor, the frequency and mode of interaction may be changed. Following is the attendance policy : In course work: Min. 75% Aggregate attendance is mandatory In one month 2 days (12 hrs) Min. 15 contact days in a semester (min. 90 hrs) 30 days in a year shall be fulfilled to appear in any evaluation activity like SAS/ ETP/Pre-submission In a semester 15 days (90 hrs) In an academic year 30 days (180 hrs) After course work: He/she has to mark attendance for at least 2 days in a month (min. 12 hours/month) by physically visiting to the supervisor and discuss research work at LPU. Moreover, LPU offers flexible coursework options- 1) Classes on weekends (Saturday & Sunday only) 2) 4 days course work every month (Preferably every second week: Thu-Sun) 3)15 days course work (November/December) The eligibility for Ph.D. Management programme is:- Masters degree with 55% aggregate marks in a relevant discipline or equivalent, subject to clearing LPU NEST and Interview. If you are UGC/NET qualified then you are exempted from LPU NEST but to avail the maximum scholarship it is advisable to appear in LPU NEST.
