Dear there is vast difference in M com carrier opportunity and MBA carrier opportunity. M com people also work on management level but it will take more time, around 6 to 7 years. In MBA degree, you will work for managerial level with in 3 to 4 years, because it is professional course. There are so many ways for carrier but important is, which study will give you high growth in fewer periods with good package. In MBA, by way of project student practical exposure in corporate working so it help them to understand and deicide about specialization.

Your friend may opt for higher studies options like LLB, M.Com, CA or CRISIL Certified Analyst Program (CCAP) or in banking sector like Diploma in Banking & Financial Services(HDBFS). Talking about MBA, you may opt for any of the specializations like Financial Management, Management Studies, Marketing Management, Human Resources Development Management, Information Technology, Retail Management, etc. You may even go ahead further with E-MBA or Executive Program in Applied Finance - IIM Calcutta.

    hii manish ,
as you said that, your friend has completed B.com , now both options are open for him.MBA (finance) would be good option for him as it is a professional degree , so after completing MBA
more options will be open for him.
And if he chooses M.Com , it is also worthy but salary package is not as good as an MBA student.
