Hi Raman, You will have to prepare from now as most of the universities abroad have a cut off percentage for its admission, which is minimum 60% and in some cases 70 % in your 12th boards.You have to decide, if you want to apply as a self financed student or under a scholarship programme. The options for a self financed student is vast. You can choose the country,the university and other related things at your will.You can opt for countries such as, Nepal, Bangladesh, Russia, Bulgaria, Kazakistan,China,Singapore, Mauritius, Malaysia, West Indies, now Philippines is also opening its doors for mbbs programme from this year. Contact the universities for eligibility,fee structure and other related queries. But first you should check the university that you are applying, with the MCI. MCI has issued a list of foreign medical universities. You should apply to those universities that are listed with the MCI. Otherwise you will not be eligible to write the screening test conducted by National Board of Examinations mentioned later. You also will need to get an eligibility certificate issued by MCI to study medicine abroad. Please contact MCI for more details regarding this matter. Visit http://www.mciindia.org for more details. If you want to apply as a scholarship student you should check with the related embassies for an updated information. After your study from abroad you need to take a screening test conducted by National Board of Examinations on behalf of Medical Council of India passing of this which and the undergoing 1 year compulsory rotatory internship makes you eligible for permanent registration and practice as doctor in India.
