MCA vs Diploma / Bachelors in game development after Graduation?

I have just completed my bsc in computer science, and want to pursue career in game development. My friends and family are insisting for MCA and then for any diploma in game development to secure my future. Will a MCA degree help me in game dev. field? Also please tell me average salary in game dev.
