media or marketing??? my score is 655 with 85 percentile in mat feb.2012

i want to do mba in media management..but my coaching teacher said don't specifically go for media as it has not much salaryu n less opportunities..also if u don't get campus placement..den it iz v.difficult to find a job..instead of media go for marketing,through which u cn go to media..wat to do

    The best way to distinguish between media and marketing is to think of marketing as a pie, inside that pie you have slices of advertising, market research, media planning, public relations, product pricing, distribution, customer support, sales strategy, and community involvement. Advertising only equals one piece of the pie in the strategy. All of these elements must not only work independently but they also must work together towards the bigger goal.     Hi Kshitij,
    If you are interested in both Media and Marketing. I would suggest you to go with Advertising and PR or Advertising and Marketing. Both Advertising and PR or Advertising and Marketing will be a good option. A PG in any would be beneficial for you as most of the organizations need promoters, marketers and a PR for getting business for the organization.
