Hi, NIFT entrance exam is designed to test a candidate's design aptitude. NIFT admission test and the complete admission process is designed in a way to test a candidate on a variety of parameters like design aptitude, mental ability, creativity, sketching, communication skills and world view. There are two tests in the first stage: General Ability Test (GAT) for all courses Creative Ability Test (CAT) for design course or Managerial Ability Test (MAT) for apparel production, management and technology courses. Test for Second Stage: Situational Test for design courses You need to prepare for GAT that is mandatory and the rest depends on your choice of program that you take up. As far as the preparation is concerned for GAT, questions would be from 10+2 level. For the Communication Ability section you need to have a clear concept on english grammar( Synonyms, words with corresponding meanings, antonyms, singular, plural, one word substitutes, correct spellings, idioms and phrases, etc.). Logical Ability aims to evaluate the ability to identify the logic or reason involved in a particular problem given and applying the logic in solving the problem.
