*** As per the official website of Mahatma Gandhi University (Meghalaya) :
" The university is empowered to award degrees as specified by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 22 of the UGC Act 1956.
The university is accorded Regular Recognition by the Distance Edu

MGU is UGC & DEC recognized University. Rejected by some states public service commission doesn't mean that it not valid. As this University has started in 2012. Please write to UGC your concern so that they can inform the Service Commission to include the University in their list.

Currently, they have not given approval to run distance courses. As on today, they are not taking any admissions in distance mode. So, wait till the approval.

MGU Meghalaya is allowed to empower degree on regular mode from its campus that is in Meghalaya but it's not allowed to open its branch anywhere else outside their campus or state and also, it cannot affiliate any institute on distance mode which is outside Meghalaya.
