MS in forensic science after B.tech in bioinformatics

I am doin B.tech in bioinformatics in VIT university. i want to persue MS in US in forensic science. will that be a good option for me as i am not very much interested in programming. since i dont have prior knowledge of forensic science, would my application be weakened.
