My birthplace is Uttar Pradesh. I have done Class 10 and 12 from Madhya Pradesh. From which state will I be considered for counselling?

Hello Mohit Shrivastav, it's a very interesting and at the same time intriguing query that you have raised. Of course the answer is quite simple. Every state has its own criteria for domicile for any student. Of course in majority of the cases it depends on the domicile of the parents. As an example a student may complete his 10th in one state and 12th in another state but if the student's parents are say are from the armed forces and they are domiciled in Maharashtra then the students domicile will be considered as that of Maharashtra in spite of the fact that he has done his 10th and 12th from different states all together. In view of the foregoing I would like to advise you to visit the web page of the directorate of technical education of both these states and download the information brochure about admissions in engineering colleges where a chapter is devoted to the domicile of the students and also who can take part in the counselling process of that state.
