No need to worry about JEE right now. Still, many exam dates are available which you can ask him to apply. Firstly, ask him to think about in which state he wants to go, because almost every state conduct their own exam and it is not possible to appear for all the exam conducted by state. Exams whose dates are still open are SRMJEEE, VITEEE KIITEE BITSAT AEEE MU-OET, these are private engineering college entrance exam. UPSEE WBJEE BCECE KCET COMED-K, CUSAT, AMUEEE UUEE are government engineering entrance exam.

Don't worry. Ask him to try for other colleges entrance exams. Example VITEEE, BITSAT, GGSIPU, LPU-NEST, SRMJEE, etc. Fill the forms of state entrance exam like UPSEE, WBJEE, COMEDK, etc.

It's very unfortunate that you missed JEE NIT means you were not serious about that, so if then also you want an admission in engineering colleges, then you can apply for private colleges/universities private universities conduct their own examination.
Many private colleges also admit students through board percentage.
At last, I would suggest every private engineering college is same. Except one or two NITs is good private college and you have to study and explore on your own the whole 4 years of B.Tech. Because, teachers are not well qualified in most of private colleges.
At last, think before whether you really want to be an engineer.

If your brother missed the date, then apply for other state wise exams such as MHT CET WBJEE. Make a list of various exams which are being conducted state wise and apply for them. Best of luck for your future exam.

It is completely fine, because there are many other good institutions too. Ask him to decide the colleges in which he wants to apply for he has to fill the entrance exam from for getting admission into a college who conducts it. NIT is advised to select the good colleges based on his desired branch and fill its application form than just blindly filing so many forms. UPES and SRM should be selected if he wants to go for Computer Science. NWBJEE, COMEDK, VIT, CU, DU, Mumbai University, Amity Noida, BITS, MIT-Chennai, SRM Chennai, UPES, SGT University are some of the colleges for reference.
