My cousin is about to complete his B.Tech in mechanical & is interested in nanotechnology. Can he pursue Masters directly in it?

Doing Masters in a very different subject where you don't have the basic knowledge is not advisable. Doing Masters in nanotechnology requires at least basic knowledge of it.
