Yes He is diploma holder Of 50 % marks he is elgible for BE or B,tech.

your friend is consider as on 12th level and you should carry your graduation in any field. As per the regulation in some courses you are allowed to admitted in 2year as lateral entry provision.

engineering is best option but if he is not interested , then he make career in animation field , today in this field there is good demand

Your friend can do a course on AutoCad with reference to Mechanical. Autodesk provides certification for mechanical engineers which are useful for them in the future.
