Though the approximate outline for a German SOP is very similar to SOPs for other countries, there are a few minor differences. Further, German institutions are more research oriented, and therefore, applicants are advised to elaborate more on their research experiences and aspirations. Additionally, overseas applicants are also expected to discuss what led them to choose Germany for their higher education, and if the same course is available in their home country, why did they choose to study it in Germany.
