my gre score is 1340( verbal-580 and quant-760).is toefl better or ielts better? why? which xam is prefrd by most of the colleges abroad???

i am in my final year BE CSE . I am confused on which exam to take, whether IELTS or TOEFL. I am interested in US universities and also NUS singapore.
