My MHT CET marks are 120 but percentile is only 29%. Why?

    This is due to the normalization process of calculating marks by authorities. According to the score calculation formula:
    The MHT CET percentile is equal to 100 (multiplied by the number of candidates in the exam who received normalized marks) divided by the total number of candidates in the exam. This complicated method is used because exams are conducted in multiple shifts, and the difficulty of the paper may be different in each shift. Therefore, your percentile score of 29% is a relative normalized score.

    This measurement shows the percentage of scores within a norm group that is lower than the score you're measuring. Percentile = (number of values below score) divide by (total number of scores) x 100
    So it depends on how many students in the same field for the same programme took the examination.
