As of now keep your focus on completing B.Tech as you are in 7th semester. Once you complete it which would probably be in June 2012, give yourself complete one year for the preparation of UPSC exam. Target that exam in the year 2013. In that one year time gat (2012 june to 2013 june) prepare hard for UPSC exam and also give state PSC exams. Join a coaching class and give mock exams for practice. Enhance your GK and knowledge on current affairs. If you can come in merit of UPSC mains & interview (i.e. only after you clear prelims) then you can become IAS.

To become an IAS Officer, you have to give Civil Services Exams organized by UPSC. You should be between 21 to 30 years of age and can have maximum of four attempts. Mostly, Prelims (now Civil Services Aptitude Test) is generally conducted in May or June while Mains is generally conducted in October or November. What more would you like to know? Would you like us to suggest what subjects you should choose? Please be more specific so that we can help you better.
