    You are eligible for Civil Services preliminary exam conducted by UPSC and State Public Service Commission
    If you qualify prelims, main and interview with rank within 40 or the maximum no of vacancy available for IAS, you become eligible for IAS/ PCS

    1)
    UPSC examination is conducted every year and on the basis of this examination a number of IAS, IPS, IFS officers are recruited.
    UPSC conducts civil services examination every year in the month of May and June and its main exam is in the month of December. The notification for this exam comes out in the month of January end.
    2)
    To be eligible :
    - You need to pass graduation in any field from any recognized university.
    - You are eligible if you are in the final year of graduation.
    - Your age must be between 21 to 30 years. 3 and 5 years of relaxation for OBC and SC/ST respectively.
    - You must be an Indian citizen.

    Hi,
    The UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) of India conducts the exam and on the basis of the result IAS, IPS, IFS officers are selected.
    The Civil Services Examinations are held in two phases:
    The first is called the CSAT which replaces the Preliminary Examination (Prelims). This has 2 papers - the general studies and general aptitude paper.
    - The second Main Examination (Mains). After that, there is the Personality Test or Viva-Voce before the final selection. Graduates can take the entrance examination.

    Educational Qualifications
    The candidate must hold a degree of any of Universities incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University Under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification.
