My sister cleared B.Sc in IT from SMU as a distance learner. Can you suggest if it is valid or not? Is it valid in the government sector?

Yes, SMUDE is a UGC recognized institute, and it's courses are also valid. It will be accepted everywhere and in every government department. It is perfectly valid. Some of my friends are working in government sector with the degree from SMUDE. -
Well Nilay, although distance learning is increasing day by day in country, it has not gained popularity among industries and organisations in real. If you are already in a job, some organisations accept your distance degree or master degree for promotions. It has no issues. But for a fresher to get a job on the basis of distance degree is little bit difficult or it may be hectic.
SMU's certificates are valid.
