On the basis of class 10th, he can go for various Diploma courses like engineering, hotel management, etc., after that he can go for a degree or he can go for Dual/ Integrated engineering Diplomas for brighter prospects.
There are many reputed universities, like Lovely Professional University, Manipal University, Amity University, SRM University, etc. offering a wide variety of courses to choose from.
All these universities offer world class learning atmosphere to students along with good placements. Check websites of some of these universities for more details.
    Good luck.

Your son needs to clear 12th exams if he doesn't wants to attend the school then open boards are available and as he doesn't want to waste his year, engage him in some Diploma or a course in which he is good at because he has a full year and all the admissions are open at this moment.
