Hi Navin,
To become an astronaut one has to get these basic requirements-
-Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in engineering, biological science, physical science, or mathematics.
- Should be a citizen of India
-You should be at least 21 years of age by the time you join. Age relax

Let him concentrate more on sciences at the moment. Let him keep dreamimg for being an astronaut. he will succeed.

As he is still a boy,there is every chance of his becoming an astronaut.In the coming 20 years,so many developments will take place.Opportunities also will increase.

Dear Navin,
A bitter fact is that for becoming an astronaut one has to be a citizen of a country which has a space agency capable of sending humans to space. Luckily India have space agency (ISRO) but unfortunately we at present are not engaging in any human enabled spacecraft.
