I think what is more important is the branch. CSE is a good branch. It has a good past, present and future. Although it totally depends on your child what he is seeking or what he wants.

VIT is also very good institution and your ward has already got CSE branch. This is no 1 for B.Tech. If you move to IIT you will get very low branch which may not be of any use in future, so better to stay with VIT. Best of luck.

Hello Pasumarthy, your son has already joined VIT. He has obtained a very good branch in CSE. I feel you should not look at any other place. If he had obtained perhaps rank in JEE Advanced less than 10K then admission in IIT would have been better. My advice is to continue in VIT.

The more important thing in B.Tech is branch , CSE is very good branch as he get. You just don't go for petroleum or chemical. Vit is also very good for computer Science student. Placement records are very good.
