My son OBC-B certificate holder. While form fill-up of WBJEE, OBC-B was mentioned. Will that certificate be accepted during counseling?

    Yes, your son's OBC-B certificate will be accepted during counseling for WBJEE. The WBJEE authorities will only consider the category that you have mentioned in your application form. So, if you have mentioned OBC-B in your application form, then your rank will be considered as OBC-B for counseling.

    Your son's rank in general category is 6999, but his rank in OBC category is 541. This means that he has a better chance of getting a seat in a good college if he chooses to take admission under the OBC category.

    The chances are 50-50. You must have been very careful while filling up the form. If you don't have the required certificate and papers you can be disqualified. Since your rank will be depending on the obc rank and not general. Ranks will be different. Go to the appointed college and talk to the authorities there.
